Is it normal i like a character more then my s/o

There's this character, yes, a fictional one, and if I'm being honest I love everything about him! He's positive, funny, understanding, and his laugh makes me smile everytime. Plus, he is pretty cute, too! He's sorta a therapist type person, so of course I instantly enjoyed the support he gave me.

The problem here is that I have a Girlfriend. She's kind, shy, always makes me feel better even if she doesn't fully understand, the prettiest person inside and out, and she's the BEST person for cuddles!

Now liking fictional characters while being in a relationship I think, is normal. But I feel as though I take it too far and because of that I have little emotion left for her. But I don't want to hurt her all for someone who will never truly be next to me.

What do I do?

He probably has a girl he talked to once during recess for his 'girlfriend' and this fictional character is probably from like fortnite or some shit.

That's fine. Characters are often written to be likable and relatable, unless they're an anti-hero. Maybe you should pay more attention to your girlfriend, though.

If the love gets to a point where it's 2/3 fictional character 1/3 SO, then that's problematic.

If I were a cartoon character, I would want to fuck Lois Griffin. But it isn't going to happen. Katie Morgan isn't going to happen either. Unlike me, you have a girlfriend at least. Work with what you got.

If you're THAT attached to this fictional character, rather than your own girlfriend. Then reevaluate your relationship. It's unfair to her.

Use this as a lesson on what your type actually is so you don't end up hurting people in the future. Despite what you think, there is a person out there who will make you not want to choose a fictional character over them. Having crushes is fine, but this is too far and unhealthy. Look for someone that fits what you want in a partner instead of settling for less because you feel lonely. You need to seek therapy, too.

You remind me of how I used to be, and I'm honestly disgusted by this post.

i feel similarly about a handful of fictional characters, though not enough to end a romantic relationship with someone. i suggest you give it time to ascertain whether or not this is a phase

If the title is true than you are sad person. How does someone like you ever get a girlfriend? It's sad that people like you even exist.
