Is it normal i feel uncomfortable going outside for no logic reason?

I mostly avoid going outside without a reason. And it was this way long before covid (and I either way live somewhere with lower population density). When I go outside alone I always feel a bit uncomfortable, mainly from having people around me that are complete strangers and I feel somehow unsheltered, not like really scared, just an uncomfortable feeling. I do not at all live in a dangerous place. I don't feel this way if I'm together with friends or family. I don't usually think about it but now I started to. I think going outside more would otherwise be good

  • The hermit lifestyle is becoming increasingly normalized but it’s certainly not natural. I suffer from social anxiety and only go out when absolutely necessary. People have always been judgemental but nowadays it’s really volatile out there.

Sounds like Social anxiety. Try forcing yourself out more or with crowds, you'll get comfortable with time. It may seem easier to avoid it but that will just make things worst. So just try to socialise more it will help you to be more relaxed in the future.

sounds like Agoraphobia....Agoraphobia is a fear of being in situations where escape might be difficult or that help wouldn't be available if things go wrong. Many people assume agoraphobia is simply a fear of open spaces, but it's actually a more complex condition. Someone with agoraphobia may be scared of travelling on public transport. if that sounds like what you suffer with you can go talk to a psychologist there are specialists that only treat people with agoraphobia. Hope this helps

    • Thanks. I think in my case its not really bad enough to be worth seeking help for though. I can still go out if I have something to do, I just feel a bit uncomfortable with it

I feel like a-lot of people suffer from a mild case of agoraphobia because I know at least 7 people including my self who feel more comfortable of staying at home and not wanting to go out

    • Female (I don't really have a sense of gender identity/belonging if that's what you're asking)

Part of your fear is natural instinct.
