I'm 22 never been to gyno I have an STD genital herpes and my mom thinks family doctors still ok to go and I've been fighting my mother bout me needing to see a gyno My mom says it's only if ure having sex u go to gyno Wether u stopped having sex u don't need to family doctors know the same I'm just very frustrated with my mother my older sister agrees I need to see a gyno cause I could have reproductive problems Is this normal

    If you have an STD go to the fucking gyno. Common sense.

    You need to go to the Gynocologist. Doctors deal with all sorts of things but this is a Gynocologists' specialty and they can possibly "treat" you better than a regular doctor can.

    I've never seen the gyno either and I'm 19, but then again, I've never had problems. You're an adult and can make decisions for yourself now - if you think that you need to see the gyno, do it.

    You can go to Planned Parenthood or certain clinics without insurance and they won't fuck you over.

    Do you go to a podiatrist when you have a sore throat? Doctors have specialties for a reason.

    Your current doctor is terrible if they do not refer you to a gyno. What are they trying to prove?

    That's what I tell my mother. I'm still under my parents health insurance . My option I'm going to the gyno ive picked out a while ago without the insurance.

    Sweet Jesus. If you're 22 you should be able to pick up a phone and call a Gyno.
    If you're over 18 or sexually active a pap smear is SO important. It's sad your mom isn't forcingyou to go see one instead of telling you not to.
    Girls- the Gyno is trained to help you. They can save your life, and make it easier.

    If your having your STD treated an having regular normal pap smears, I don't think u need a gyno.
