So I was dating my friend for four years (We were happy together and we never fought until recently) but some other guy came along I knew for a few weeks and I knew he was the one (hopefully ^^) so I started hanging out with this new guy and my BF got jealous and told me to stop hanging out with this guy (first time we fought and it was all his fault) so I told him to shut up and he doesnt have the right to control my life and broke up with his ass (yay!) anyways so were still friends and he wants me back and I was just wondering if its normal for him to be jealous cause I dont think it is lol

Maybe you're all adults and this is a matter of your boyfriend and you having different ideas of what sort of relationship you were in, and his feelings for you being deeper than yours for him, but your query has the whiff of early-teen dramatics about it.

Of course, it's common in relationships. But if you spend too much time with a friend than your lover, then it turns into dysfunctional relationship. He's jealous because he loved you, but you never wanted to be around him.
