I like working out at the gym. However, I don't like the advances of gay men. I am straight. Gay men come up to me naked after showering, toweling off their genitals, trying to get attention. When I don't respond, they sometimes ask if I enjoyed my workout, and if I don't have lunch plans, would I like to join them? I ignore them. Yesterday a naked guy stood right next to me toweling off after showering, like he was desperate for me to look at him. He was old and ugly. What's with this behavior? If I went up to women working out whom I find attractive, I don't fondle my crotch in front of them, ask them for dates, or make small conversation like, those are nice shoes, and by the way, what's your phone number? This is considered sexual harassment, and women complain and you will get thrown out of the gym. I will start complaining bout the behavior of gay men towards me, I don't like it, I love women, and I feel sexually harassed. Is this normal?

    That might be your problem. You're assuming that they're naked after a shower to get your attention.

    Sometimes men towel off their genitals after a shower because they don't want their briefs getting wet. Not because they want you to see their twig & berries.

    And they're next to you... um, like right up against you or just at their own locker that's near yours?

    I'm thinking your reactions are perhaps a bit phobic. Why not just say "no thank you" vs turning it into an "omg the gay man asked me out" drama?

      I think I know naked when I see it. Sure it's normal to towel off your genitals as well as your whole body, and most men do it discreetly. But when a naked guy stands right in front of you, facing you, toweling off hs privates, his back, and wagging his dong, IS THAT NORMAL?

      Yes, I know how to say "no thank you," and will do so from now on, should any more incidents occur.

        Thing is you never said this from the start.

        You may have a clear mental picture of this but you cannot expect us to see this same picture if you don't actually describe it.

        From your original description hell, it could just be some dude drying off next to his locker and saying "hi" to the guy in the next locker over.

    If you've been on this sight for more than a week, you'll notice how many "straight guy likes to suck cock" stories there are. Those are most likely gay guys getting their jollies by trying to lure straight guys into that dialogue. It's like a conquest.

    That's messed up, man. there are some gay guys at my gym but they're very private about themselves and rarely even talk to other people.

      Just to clarify, it's not like my gym is overrun with gays, and I have had only three disturbing incidents in the locker room. I'm sure most keep to themselves and rarely talk to anyone. I just can't stand the aggressive ones.

        "only 3" is 3 too much, man. I'd be kinda ok if it happened once -go figure, some people are jerks regardless of their sexuality. is it the same guy or 3 different ones?

        it's a tricky case cause unless you can provide some sort of prove they'll shout "homophobe" louder than bombs.

          It was three different guys. One was an old ugly pervert, one wanted a date, and one just enjoyed flashing his dong in front of me. That's why I'm taking boxing lessions from my trainer.

            Well, that sucks.. But kicking their teeth in (which i would personally encourage), might cancel your gym membership or even get you a police record if they press charges.

            So the best idea is just see how it goes, and if the same people bug you, you gotta tell them to f*ck off.

    Next time one asks you out, act like you are clueless, ask them to come to the strip club with you, tell them that afterwards you two can get a couple of hookers.

      Yeah, great idea! I know strip clubs where the girls are really aggressive. They come sit on your lap, you buy them a drink, and they offer you any kind of "action" you want in the back room. That should get them guys running screaming out the door.

    Make a complaint, but be careful as the situation could turn make you look like the bad guy (homophobe). Also, that old sounded like a perv. Another way to avoid the harassment is to wait until you go home to shower off.
