Is it normal coffee helps relieve period pains?

I sometimes get extremely painful and debilitating menstrual cramps, but usually when I drink coffee, afterwards the pain subsides rather quickly. However, I always read online that coffee will make period pains worse, so it seems contradictory. But for me personally, I find it helps, because after having a nice hot cup of joe, my abdominal pains do get better quicker. Is this normal?

  • Haven't noticed that myself unfortunately, it's good for my headaches however! Makes sense though because my favorite painkillers have caffiene in them.

  • I used to have to buy those microwaveable heating pads for an ex. Maybe the warmth helps?

  • Some of my acetaminophen menstrual pain pills had caffeine in them. I vote normal.
