Is fauci reliable?

Knowing how untruthful and deceptive Trump is, and how he twists the truth, do you think Dr. Fauci is reliable or just another Trump stooge?

He definitely is the most honest and trustworthy person on that stage.

    • He seems to be but being admired, supposedly, by Trump I get concerned. Thanks for your reply!

Fauci started working at the National Institutes of Health in 1968 and has been in his current position since 1984, so that suggests he knows what he's talking about when it comes to infectious diseases, epidemics and the best way to limit and end them. In the 35 years since he's been in his current role, he has turned down promotions, so that's a good indication that he's highly competent, loves his work and isn't driven by personal ambition.

At the moment, Fauci in a very difficult position because he's being forced to share a platform with a boss who believes he understands far more than he actually does, and who just can't help spouting simplistic solutions and feel-good forecasts even when there's zero scientific evidence to support what he says.

This is obviously a unique situation, but it's not the first time Fauci has been in the hot-seat. Back during the AIDS crisis, he got a lot of hate from gay activists for not supporting the use of drugs that were claimed to treat HIV but had poor clinical trial evidence to support the manufacturer's claims.

Fauci is a good example of how a few "adults in the room" have tried to deal with Trump during the whole of his administration. They can't come out and call his BS for what it is, since they know that will only result in the big orange baby having a temper-tantrum and them getting the can, so they stroke the narcissistic idiot's ego and pick their words carefully, aiming to get the facts and their message across in a way that the fool can live with. The problem is that everything Trump touches turns to shit, so everyone who appears on a platform and agrees with him in any way is contaminated.

Trump being Trump, I'm sure he's carefully hoarding away his resentments about Fauci not completely kowtowing to him constantly, so I wouldn't be at all surprised if he's fired on some absurd pretext once the COVID-19 dust has settled.

The man is lucky to still have a job in this administration. And it's a hard one. I think my biggest frustration is how Trump speaks of medicine as if that is his new profession. Reporters use lawyer speak to try and trap Fauci in a statement that will get him in trouble or force him to sacrifice his integrity. Trump has none so it looks weird to his supporters.

I think he's as legit as he can be, in his situation. I believe he feels forced to play nice, lest he get replaced by yet another unqualified "Trumper", during a time when we need him most. So I think he may say somethings he wouldn't otherwise but I also don't think he'd ever say something he feels would be harmful.

I find some of his information reliable. At the same time I feel that he is being forced to say things he would rather not say.

He’s got some shady history and connections. More important than whether he is reliable though, is listening to all the doctors and perspectives and hearing all the input. Fauci isn’t reliable because they made him the only spokesperson. It’s that simple. Try flattenthefear.com

    • Well, that's going a bit far but I understand what you mean. I think everyone has to have at least a couple people they can trust.
