Im confused.

I have been hearing and seeing a person when I'm 'staring into space' as some say. It used to say simple things like 'pay attention' or 'dont forget...' but now it gets me even more distracted and it tries to have normal human conversation. After awhile I decided to make it a friend to talk to when I'm bored. But sometimes I hear it when I'm trying to choose what to do... but I don't see "him" , yes it's a he, so is it my conscience or an imaginary friend?

A vivid imagination is a very good thing to have, unless it gets out of control. Just don't let this imaginary "friend" take too much control over YOUR life, after all he won't have to suffer the consequences.

I don't think that you are crazy. This being might be anything from a ghost to your sprit guide. Ask it what it is. It doesn't seem to mean you any harm. http://www.crystalinks.com/spirit_guides.html

If you still have your doubts, you can ask a medium about this. Open your mind and explore all possibilities until you write yourself off as insane. Good luck. :)

Hey. I don't want to worry you but I would be fairly concerned if I were you. What you are describing sounds almost exactly like the onset of schizophrenia or another serious mental health disorder of the same family. Very often schizophrenia is characterized by gradually increasing auditory (and sometimes visual) hallucinations. What worries me most is that you do not seem to be "controlling" this voice/person. If you felt that it was just you talking to yourself, I wouldn't be concerned at all; that's perfectly normal. In this case I would agree that it probably was your "conscience", (depending on your age) an "imaginary friend", or simply self-talk.

However, this is not the case. What you are describing are uncontrolled, autonomous, recurring hallucinations. Even more worrying is that these hallucinations manifest themselves as a distinct person separate from you. Even MORE worrying is the fact that you say that occasionally the hallucinations are not only auditory but visual as well (although later you say that you "don't see 'him'", so it's not completely clear whether or not you are experiencing visual as well as auditory hallucinations).

I would strongly, strongly recommend that you immediately seek out a psychiatrist (NOT a psychologist) and honestly tell them exactly what you have been experiencing. They will determine how serious your potential condition is. However, I cannot stress enough the importance of making that visit. Schizophrenia is an extremely serious disease that can cause major problems, especially if it is not dealt with quickly. If what you are saying is true, I can almost guarantee that your hallucinations will continue to get more vivid and vie for more of your attention, and, as things progress, it is very likely that your "friend" will become sadistic, cruel, and dangerous. I am not joking when I say that your life could be at risk. The "personalities" that often manifest as a result of schizophrenia are known for advocating the harm of either the hallucinator or others. Please take my word on this. Seek help.

If you have more questions, I would be happy to help to the best of my ability. However, I am not a trained mental health professional. You really need a psychiatrist to evaluate and help you through this, before things become a danger to you or others.

    Good luck and God bless.
