Iiners, do you vote on other comments?

One of the reasons I like is it normal is that it's not Reddit, so you can talk to people and voice your opinion without worrying about random onlookers voting you into oblivion.

Still, the voting system is there, even if most of us don't have the ability to downvote. I upvote sometimes if I agree with a post, but I noticed that most comments on this site sit at 0 forever.

Do you ever vote on other comments in these threads, and if not, why?

I downvote comments that show a significant flaw in reasoning/logic, it's not a "disagree" button it's to gauge the value/substance of a comment
Thumb up anything funny or informative
Don't use the block function.

These days I only downvote a user when they bully another user for seemingly no reason. Things like name calling, telling the user to off themselves, saying they'll find the user and kill them, etc.

    This site isn't bad. Users telling others to KYS only pops up once in a while.
    
    Though everytime a person here is called out on their wrongdoings they then proceed to give some sob story about a traumatizing past, a bad day, or a mental illness/disability. Imo none of that is a valid excuse to try and tear someone down in such a vindictive way. If they're too vicious toward someone I skip the thumbs down and click Report instead.

I only downvote bigotry, harmful “advice” and unnecessary rudeness to the OP.

I haven’t upvoted much recently thinking about it, when I do it’s typically good advice or funny comments.

    Basically my current made up understanding of how the upvote/downvote system works. That after a certain number of downvotes a comment gets sent to the shadow realm, and that only happens to comments that are obvious trolls or hyper degenerate, not ever opinion comments
    
    And I explained my own downvote/upvote process which is the same as yours
    
    And I think that downvotes being visible is a necessity because it lets an OP or other readers know that a harmful comment is not supported and should not be taken as common opinion

I upvote a lot cus idk, i just dp that a lot, but i dpwnvote when its something overly problematic or something. If i dont up/downvote then i was prolly too lazy or didnt understand the comment lol

Seldom vote either way, if I like it, I'll comment, if I don't I just move on. Too many other people full of negative energy. You are entitled to your own opinion. I'm not going to play negative Nancy.

If I vote it's normally up and only because it's my exact thought.
