Is it normal unsure how to deal with beloved dad being deported?

My dad was deported! He tried to become a citizen several times and they gave him a hard time about it. Him and my mom pay taxes and own several businesses. So he stuck with the green card which was ok until now. His ex wife and a former business partner contacted ice and lied about him.
Ice played with our emotions and wouldn't let us visit him in prison or say goodbye.

We had several congressmen and a judge try to fix the situation but it wasn't enough. I want to join my dad so he won't be alone. My dad says no it is not a good idea for me to come there and to take care of my mom and sisters and try to get in college. Do I want to live in a country that doesn't support people like my dad? I have had a lot of positive feedback from the community but some of the negative racist comments really fucked with my head?

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

nah. as someone who is very familiar with the immigration process, no words of his ex would get him deported. She must have had evidence on something. If his ex is still his sponsor (hence "she got him deported") then they weren't married long. he probably used her for a green card and she doesn't want to be tied to the affidavit of support for a man who's married to someone else. Your dad's deportation was justified. you're playing a victim.

Don't give a damn about what we think about your situation. We are people and we often find ourselves foolishly condemning you and your family first, without verifying your situation properly with our heads without bias or racial prejudice. Just do what you have to support your father and mother. May God Bless You.
