Is it normal to not like multiplayer and voicechatting

I prefer to play video games alone when I do. I think its my poor focus because when you play with someone you have to be present the whole time and usually play for much longer than I might do at a time when playing by myself. I also dont like people messing with my things but i'll play with someone if I need another person to get something done in the game easier.
When I do play with someone like a friend I never use voicechat and if I have to I never say anything because I dont know what im supposed to be talking about, im trying to focus on the gameplay helloo?? I'm not a talkactive person in real life so I dont know why I would be over what is basically like talking on the phone which I hate. I have a lot of fun playing with a friend do when we're just in the world together, not talking just going about our separate things while getting ahead in the game faster thanks to each other.

I don't mind having voicechat while playing with my best friends. Funny banter, goofy moments, good times...

But voice chat with random people on an online game - fuck no.
I really don't feel like being called various racial slurs by a rabid, sugar-overdosed 9 year old and having them tell me my mom is a fag. There are just far too many annoying people out there on most mainstream games.

Hell, you can even get trolls in Flight Simulator multiplayer.

With that said... I have enjoyed discord voice chats in Need for Speed online, before I was banned for my artistic tuning...

Beating everyone in a classic Porsche with sponsors such as Kum & Go, Mammoth Erection, Doggy style grooming salon, Manlove forensics and Dick Peniston attorney at law, spewing Jeremy Clarkson quotes is very satisfying.

  • That's fine as long as the game you're on isn't dependent on those things. Playing 7 Days to die without communicating is fine but playing EFT without communication and groups? Gonna have a bad time.

I only do that when I've got 4 people with me when it comes to voice chatting.

Online gaming has never interested me. If I want to socialise then I prefer to do it in person. Gaming is alone time for me.

Good communication with a friends adds a whole new element. Its fun to bullshit with someone during the quiet moments. That said by all means play your own way. It's a game after all meant to be enjoyed

Some like multiplayer, some like singleplayer. I like both, siding towards co-op multiplayer(think Dark Souls or Portal). Enjoy your games, OP.

Portal is probably one of the only games where I prefer multiplayer to singleplayer
