Is it normal to make life size dolls of cartoon characters

Is it normal that I want to make full sized dolls of cute cartoon guys so that I can hug and kiss them, the only thing holding me back is the cost of fabric, but why don’t more people do this? Is it really so insane? I want to have them all around the house. I’m an adult and completely normal in public, I have a job, I just don’t care for friendships, relationships or even pets right now. Also, this is not sexual.

    It's normal. Just don't try to sell them like a coworker of mine did. She got in trouble since she didn't own the copyrights to the characters.

      Oh wow, I never thought about that. How did they even catch her, and what were the consequences? Is it also illegal to sell cosplays then?

        I honestly don't know the rules when it comes to things like that. She just said she got a message from some sort of legal team telling her to stop selling it. They apparently did this to a few people as part of some sort of crackdown. She's selling her own original stuff now. It's not selling as well but at least she doesn't have to worry about infringement.

    Sounds like a great idea! I would totally do this too! I don't think I'd necessarily hug and kiss them but I'd definetley play with them like giant action figures or act out stories and stuff.

    You know what... I take that back.. Kissing and hugging them doesn't sound so bad lol

      So cute! I actually would like to turn it into a business someday, along with custom cosplay type stuff. I doubt it will be anytime soon though haha

    I've heard of this sort of thing. I think it's normal. You find them comforting, but not actual people. It's okay, though you may want to look into why that is for you.

    A fairly common thing in the Anime community is getting body pillows with a persons favorite character on them. It's kinda the same thing as you, but just not as detailed.

    I don't think that's very normal. Making your own sex dolls is weird enough but making sex dolls fashioned after cartoon characters is kind of weird in my opinion. If you like it though and have the artistic skills necessary to make your own cartoon sex dolls then go for it.
