Is it normal to have this obsession with my friend

So I have this obsession with my friend, whenever he talks with someone else I feel upset, like I didn't want him to talk to someone else other than me. even when he talks in a group chat I feel upset too. What do you think is wrong with this? pls help me identify this.

  • I think there may be some latent homosexual feelings there. You should do some serious introspection about it.

  • It doesn't need to be anything sexual to be real.

Acknowledge the feeling and decide not to act on it. You need to let it slip away from you in order to free yourself from it; you mustn't cling to it. Distract yourself from it. You may never stop having that feeling but if you can distract yourself enough it will lessen in intensity.

  • You just sound very jealous, and possessive.

Yeah, I would probably want to run away from someone like what you are describing.

  • Do you have other close friends outside of him?

  • One of my bestfriends new wife is like that and I havent talked to him in years. We used to be like brothers. Its sad ppl get jealous like this. As soon as she met him she didnt even know me yet and she had him stop talkin to all his friends.

  • I had the exact same feeling with my ex best friend. I didn't want him to have other friends or a girlfriend. One day I was ghosted without explanation. I didn't say anything crazy to him. I still think about it today.

    • That happened to me. I knew I was too intense for that person, though.

I wonder sometimes if she ever thinks of me, too.
