Is it normal to go through a significantly long dry spell?

I've had sex with 6 women (22 yr old straight male). Haven't had sex in 3 or 4 years though. I've only gained 5-10 pounds since last time so it's not like I let myself go or anything. I'm still the exact same person. Just haven't had any luck at all. Another weird part is this mainly started in college (4/6 happened in high school). I have tons of friends and I'm always going out and doing social stuff, but every time I find a girl I like i just get thrown into the friend zone immediately. I just graduated and have a great job, have a puppy who should be a complete chick magnet, I feel like it should be easy like it used to be. Is this normal? I'm 5'11" 215 could stand to lose some weight but not obese. Maybe need to lower my standards?

    Friend zone is not a good place to be dump all your female friends hang with dudes , what happens is their chicks will hit on you because you are new meat they can't touch. women always want what they can't have. it makes no difference if they are married. unless you see yourself with that dog down the road dump it at the dump. they just get in the way of vacations you can take with a woman. the second a woman fried zones you dump her as fast as you can, sometimes they will sleep with you one time just to keep you as plan B. dump them right after they sleep with you if they ever friendzoned you. this trains them to give you sex on demand. you are not getting sex because you are surrounded yourself with women that put you in the friend zone box. Only one way out .

    If You have high standards does that mean you only talk to or show interest in specific women? If so then yes, you're lowering your chances to be with others. Just think, How many woman do you see that you feel are your perfect type? 1 of 3, 1 of 5, 1 of 20? Whatever it is that's your chance of finding someone and then you gotta hope they are your type too. Either way its not uncommon. Just give it more time
