Is it normal to find former addicts insufferable

Ive never known a former addict but celebrities who used to be addicts always act so insufferable and imagine all of them are like that. They make being a former addict their entire personality and become extremely greatful for everything in a way that is annoying. They only change addiction to being obnoxious religious or spiritual people who preaches to everyone and has an eternal victim complex, feeling sorry for themselves and constantly expecting asspats.

To be fair, overcoming an addiction, especially one like cocaine or heroin is extremely difficult. The success rate of recovery is less than 10% so if you're able to kick an addiction, I feel like it warrants some pride in yourself

They are probably trying to help others.... but its natural to feel annoyed and bored by someone raving about how people should try this or that.... especially if you are completely happy overeating/doing drugs etc etc hahaha

Dude never take what celebrities do as the norm. However, overcoming addiction is essentially dodging jail, mental institutions, homelessness, death and even murder, so it's a pretty big ficking deal. I suggest you try to experience empathy.

I've talked to a few former addicts and they all seemed to act that way, minus the victim complex. They didn't sound like they were looking for sympathy or compliments, just friends and spreading the word.
