Is it normal to feel like i might be autistic

Like. I find social situations hard. There are ceetain smells/sounds etc that just trigger me. It tales all my strength to hold it in and physically hurts. I just want to freak out. I find it hard to leave my house or meet new people. The extent to my socializing is when i play games. I never was a "pretender". I also took thae AQ test and scored 46/50

The symptoms of autism overlap with a lot of different conditions, so it's hard to know from just a test. I'm similar to you and I'm not autistic -- but I do have anxiety and adhd. If you're able to talk to a professional it could be a helpful way to figure things out.

I've read the symptoms and taken online tests and some people have thought that in general I've always displayed traits but aren't actually autistic but I don't really know. Honestly, after reading about Schizophrenia and Autism, I'd consider some of those symptoms normal to anyone who's not a complete fucking idiot. Others..... might be a little, well, you know.

Wow. I'm diagnosed autistic and you sound more autistic than I do.

Don't worry too much about it though. It just means that you've got a few small differences. Don't ignore them but don't stress out about them either. Just say that these things bother you like a mild allergy.

I read some of your comments on this page, I definitely agree with the high-pitch thing. I kinda learned to not react but I get REALLY stressed out when someone's shouting, even if it's not at me. And don't ask me to watch Alvin and the Chipmunks, nothing happened but part of my mind just... shuts down? I don't know how to explain. It's like high-pitch sound costs a bit of my focus or something.

Feel free to ask me about anything. I was diagnosed autistic at 5,if anyone wants to know

    • When anyone yells near me i breakdown completely. I'm 18 now but day by day the few people I do talk to think I might be autistic.

I think you have severe social anxiety. I don't know much about autism, but I think this is more towards SA. Do you feel more panicked, or more confused??

    • Both panicked and confused. Idk what to say and often freeze up.

try to be more specific? Like what sounds exactly, or what senses trigger you the most?

        • It's hard to descrbe the sounds exactly but usually it's the pitch of someones voice or if they are screaming i just cant handle it at all.

Well in that case, i very much doubt it's autism. You should go see a psychiatrist. Maybe he would recommend something that could help you?
