Is it normal to feel bad about all the dead animals on the roadside i pass?

I mean, lately my brain even goes beyond that and I think about how the poor animal suffered all alone and for how long before it died and it just makes me feel so bad that I sometimes burst into tears.

Actually opossums are practically immune to rabies because their body temperature is too low for the virus to survive. They also hardly ever carry Lyme disease. They eat a lot of nasty bugs and are very good about staying clean and not spreading disease, as well as cleaning up rotting carcasses. Make good mamas.
    Team Opossum 👍🏻

I would say getting hit by a car is probably a swifter death than what they could find in the wild.

In my old ghetto ass hometown, animals such as dead cats, squirrels, raccoons, chickens, and even small dogs in the road were so common that I'm just immune to seeing it.

No, wasn't really around my uncle. Were your parents sister and brother? That's the only reason I can think of on why you're this mentally retarded.

    "Mentally fucked up." How ironic.

Thanks. At least I'm not the cunt you crawled out of.🤭

"Talk about detached from reality." Says the guy that has deluded himself into believing he is anything but a dumbass. That's why you probably flip burgers at Mc Donald's.

Based on your behavior on this site, I believe we can all agree that you are a special ed prick. You sound stupid in almost every comment you make and act as if you have a giant stick up your ass. Even though all you've ever done is talk out of your ass, you act as if you know what you're talking about. Typical stupid person. You don't even try to sound like you're smart.

And says the guy that types like he dropped out of school. Give me a damn break. Really, calling others stupid is not gonna hide your mental retardation. It'll just make you look even more stupid.😂🤣

You probably need to control those emotions a bit. It's normal to feel sad at dead animals, I know I do. But it doesn't disrupt my life. And those hit by cars don't always suffer. Sometimes it's quick. But there are other animals that benefit on the carion. Such is the circle of life.

Opossums are very misunderstood. They eat ticks, roaches and other pests and rarely transmit rabies. I want them in my yard!

But it didn't bite me. Your point is...? And not all opossums have rabies, you buffoon. Just like not all racoons have rabies. Calling you a retard would be an understatement.

You'd think that life would be better adapted to the reality of death, if death was the ideal way of things. Wouldn't the suffering that death causes (in natural circumstances) be less universal, instead of being in every species since time immemorial?

There's a popular worldview which holds that death is even a positive thing, since the death of one thing seems to ensure that another thing will be able to live. But I can't conclude that death is inherently good when I think how every living thing normally suffers in death, and how, as an animal ages and its body wears out even in relatively good health, it suffers sometimes for years and years, and its suffering increases the closer it approaches death.

So I think that death is inherently a flaw, and that the cycling economy by which the death of one thing allows another thing to grow, is an unfortunate economy indeed. The fact that death allows other things to live only slightly mitigates the shame of it.

You don't care for the dead opossums that you see laying on the road, but I do, and I'm the weird one? Yeah, okay. Caring for animals doesn't make someone "weird". You are just trying to hide your strangeness at this point. You're the ultimate dumbass.

Exactly. So you're the one here that isn't normal.

Stupidity at it's finest. It's very normal to feel bad for dead animals. What's NOT normal is to not care. So, actually, you're the abnormal one here, buddy.

It's normal. It makes me sad, too, though sadly there's nothing that can be done about it. I just hope that it's usually instantaneous and that if not, they were in shock up until the end and didn't suffer too much. Some consolation is that they are now at peace and not hurting any longer, though it's still sad.

When I see one I'm like "meh...." and move on however most of the time it's an accidental death.

If it's any consolation, the animals probably didn't know that they were going to die since they wouldn't have understood what death is. So they may have had hope that they were going to recover and survive.
