Is it normal to do pole dancing as a hobby?

Is it normal to practice pole dancing as a hobby? I go to a studio that has all kind of ages and accept all genders, although of course everyone is a woman (except for me, I'm a guy). It's not sexual either, and it's more about the fitness than actual dancing around the pole.

Is it weird (for a guy) to do pole dancing? I keep it a secret to my friends and when people ask me if I do any sports, because I don't wanna come across as a creep or something else.

I used to do pole fitness. There were no men in my classes but I wouldn't have thought much of it if there were - it's really just an exercise class.

It's fucking hard work! I tried to go back after my second baby but I just couldn't do it. You need to be in good shape for it. So, good for you! Sounds like you are very physically fit!

Pole dancing takes a lot of core strength i think thats a great workout.
I think people are really reactive. If you talk about the pole dancing in an embarrassed way people will judge you. If you speak about it confidently people will think its cool. I learned this in my early twenties. I used to be embarrassed telling people about wanting to work in film because i was used to the “ youre never gonna make it” from my family and peers. Once i started talking about it enthusiastically people got on board.

I wish I was strong enough to dance like some of those ladies do. Seriously, that looks really difficult.

Dancers are fucking beasts. It takes so much strength to work the pole. Good for you.

Actually, if you really work at it, it can be a good all encompassing exercise.
