Is it normal to dip a freshly baked cookie in milk?

Just curious on opinions.
I watched a video of a guy who made some pretty awesome cookies - brown butter, dark chocolate, toffee. But at the end, he ripped off a piece of the fresh baked cookie and dipped it into milk.

BLEGH!
How could you do that? What was the point? What reason? Maybe to wash down the cookie with, sure - but it's a fresh, soft, cookie - and in the video he didn't even try it first on it's own!

In my opinion there's only a few cookies worth dipping in milk:
Oreos
Biscotti
Shortbread.
Graham Crackers.

Anything dry that needs sopping up.

AMIWRONG?

Milk is nasty yo. That's for baby cows not humans.

If some random chick came up to you on the street like "Here's a glass of my breastmilk for you to drink" most people would be grossed out to drink it, but then they'll drink milk that isnt even for people. No adult animal drinks milk.

Totally agree. It smells like it's gone off when it's still fresh. People stink like a sour cheesey baby shit after they've had it, I can't stand it.

And god forbid you spill the stuff. It permanently ruins anything even slightly porous with it's nasty stank.

The literal only thing vegans got right is that milk is disgusting pus and nobody should go near it

Certain cookies are more scrumptious when dipped in milk...

    Others are not.

Sounds normal to me... if its the right kind of cookie.

I think it's still good dipped in milk when it's freshly baked, though I do prefer to try it on its own first. The downside is that softer cookies don't absorb as much milk as drier, crunchier ones, but it can still be a nice mix.

As a side note, I like to take premade soft cookies and heat them in the microwave for about 10 seconds. They taste almost like they just came out of the oven!

I just don’t see how, I have no desire to do it. Even coffee, like dipping anything soft into coffee is kinda weird (like a doughnut) but biscotti or other crunchy cookies it’s good as hell

Makes sense to soften up those cookies that way

I actually love dipping donuts in coffee, lol! Or apple cider donuts in hot apple cider. 😋 I do agree that crunchy cookies are great dipped in beverages, though.

I guess everyone has different tastes!

Yeah, cider mill donuts are good! Not sure if I tried to dip them in cider or coffee. Dipping a doughnut in milk doesn’t seem that bad though, especially if it’s like steamed milk or something

I haven't tried them in milk, but that will definitely be on my list as well!

  • I think I saw that video, was he doing like a 2 minute, 2 hour, and 2 day cookie thing? With irregularly cut chocolate?

Yeah it was one of those more asmr type videos, a 48 hour chocolate chip cookie.

I just didn’t approve of his dunking the cookie, fresh off the tray, into milk. Blasphemy

      • Yeah wouldn't it just crumble in the milk?

Sounds fucking disgusting to me, but I know a lot of people who say they like to do this, so I think it's normal.

I don't really like milk, which may be why I feel the way that I do.

Sure if the cookie is baked properly.

It’s nasty, no food is improved by making it soggy. Even milk on cereal is nasty to me.
