Is it normal to be uncomfortable around women if i've been abused by them?

It's not as if I hate women or anything. It's just that everyone that has abused me has been a woman. I feel very uncomfortable when, for example, my doctor or therapist is a woman. I know that I should work on this and I will, but I was wondering if this makes me a bad person. I know that sometimes women that have been abused by men end up afraid of them. Does the same thing happen in reverse? When a man is abused by women? or am I just sexist?

Yeah that's totally normal. Don't worry, it doesn't make you a bad person at all. You can ask for a male doctor or therapist if you want, but it is probably better to try to work on it instead alright.

For me, same thing. I'm extremely uncomfortable when I'm just alone with a middle aged straight man, because of my last experiences. It's normal after something like that happens, as long as you don't turn to misogyny or anything of the sorts; I'd say it's quite regular.

What kind of abuse have you suffered from women?

    • I'd rather not go into too much detail, but I've been emotionally, verbally, and sexually abused by several women in my life. I'm not too sure how this is relevant to the question though, haha.

Just because it gives me perspective to try to understand where you're coming from.
