Goddammit! They're not singing, they're emitting an annoying sound that makes me go through the roof! Do you love them 'singing' or hate them like me???

    I hate them. I hate the noise they make and they themselves creep me out.

    I don't want them all dead, I just really enjoy the lull years.

    This post reminds me of my childhood dog, Blackie. I'd often see her lying down with one of those pinned under her paws and she'd be biting and clawing it until it was dead.

    To me, big bugs are creepy and grotesque. I feel bad for thinking that, because they're innocent and can't help it.

    When I walk under trees, I'm paranoid that one will fall out onto my head. Their singing creeps me out.

    I'm only fine with insect sounds when they're part of the background sounds for an entertainment medium.

    Having grown up in Houston, Texas I always associate the sound of cicadas with summertime.
