Is it normal that social welfare is not something that exists

America makes it illegal to be homeless but it turns out we also have no sociol welfare programs. I know this because I recently have become homeless since I lost my job thanks to COVID and I was told I can not get any sort of access to housing even temporarily. I can get unemployment but since it takez a month to get the check and I was told my job getting rid of me under these conditions is also illegal. However labor board said it would take a month as well. So I trying to secure temporary housing for at least a month but am told that all these programs that supposedly get all this money to help the homeless cant do anything to help the homeless. I have a motel for 3 days until I take my train ticket and move for better lands. I have access to a shower and a kitchen and a fridge and cable. Which is funny since this is a cheap motel and I paid 500$ rent and I for that place I showered in the sink and couldn't use kitchen. I have a few days of happiness before I have to move again.

You're still in my prayers! I hope you find someplace soon!

That's good old capitalism for ya. Where slave wages run rampant, exploitation and corruption are endless, and socialism is only for the rich (when they need to get bailed out by the government).

It's sad, and depressing. If you're asking is America normal in that respect, no, not really, Europe has much more of a social safety net.
