Is it normal that my son says he wants to become a pornostar?

My middle son is 10 and everytime someone asks him what he want to be when he grows up he answers pornostar. If they ask why he says because they make a lot of money and have fun. I mean i know he is kidding (.....probably) but still, isn't it weird for a ten year old to answer like that? Shouldn't he be fantasizing of becoming an astronaut or somethning?

    He's serious, unfortunately.

    What you should be worried about is how he was exposed to porn, and when he finds enough time to watch it to the point of wanting to become a pornstar. Also, who explained to him that those are just actors and not real sex like how most children grow up believing when they first watch porn. I know it's alarming your son wants to be in the porn industry, but at least it's a job, and being 10 he may change his mind later if something else interest him (so don't be so hard on him or force him to change).

    However, you need to find who told him all this information and encouraging him to be a pornstar, because this doesn't just happen over night, it was influenced; make sure your son isn't getting molested or something by someone older whether it be family or school staff and whatnot. Try being enthusiastic about his plans and ask how he thought of it, and who showed him how the industry works, making seem like giving you this information wont get him or his "friend" in trouble. That way, you can confront whomever spoke to your son about something so inappropriate for his age.

      Well, i my self have explained all three of my kids how sex is done. I believe that its better for them to know that its a normal action so they don't start having weird ideas about it like its something so special. And it seems it worked for the other two. It's just he is so weird about a great deal of things. Before this shit about becoming a pornostar which he started approximately a year ago, he was saying he want to become a model (and to think i believed this was bad....). Also about the influence thing; my brother, his uncle talks to them a lot about.... "men talk" but i don't believe he would go as far as putting them watch porno. He's crazy but not that crazy. And i have asked him a lot of times about it and i always get answears like "isn't the point of a job making lots of money easily" or "i thought no job is a shame, is it" he even told me once that i should be proud he wants to make us rich and if i had a better job it would be better for all of us. This kid sure is a pain in the ass!

        Man-talks are for men. Watch over your son carefully, if he starts showing signs of sexual abuse then you may need to stop giving your brother the benefit of the doubt.

          Come on seriously! My brother is a good guy. He may be anoying sometimes, and say things to them i don't completelly agree with but he definately loves his nephews like they were his kids. It's just that boys prefer discussing things like girls they like and that stuff with men than women. Plus uncles are usually more cool with those conversation than parents, i don't think that's something abnormal. Plus if he was bad influence my two other kids would be affected too. Trust me, if you knew my son you wouldn't worry much about being abused by anyone, more like the opposite.....

      I can't say that he is the most typical example of a kid, but still. And about the porno movie, although i would prefer to believe that he hasn't watch, with all the guys he's hanging out (and above all my stupid, immature brother) i can't say for sure. What am supposed to do put a tape over his eyes? And i used to think that model was a bad idea....

    You gotta let him know the industry's not what it used to be. Being a straight male performer was always difficult but for a while you could still get a lot for your first guy guy scenes. But I mean how many female performers are there even with porn CAREERS unless he wants to shoot a lot right at 18 and then move to India, you really need to supplement with something else. I'd pray he's gay if not open to gay for pay and is good at saving money.

          You don't know me alright! I wasn't "trash talking" anyone and definately not any of my children. And you know what, my parents didn't support my choices neither, and a lot of other people didn't get the support they needed, you don't have to be a crybaby about it. I would never break down my childrens dreams if they are genuine and well thought, but i want them to know what consequences each life choice has so they don't ruin their lives. If for example my son desides to start selling drugs it doesn't mean i should let him do it just like that because it look a reasonable action to him. If i eventually can't stop him, that's another thing.

I think maybe you took more from my comment than intended, I never purported to know you or cast any judgement on your character, I'll admit my wording was too strong. But I saw thick skull, as a name call. Which you may disagree with. But it felt to me inappropriate to say about your child. Again not a huge deal.       Everybody that knows him knows that it isn't as simple as telling him anything! A new word must be invented to describe him because stubborn isn't half as accurate. He will find your weakness on the matter and use it to prove his point! Trust me i have never seen a more talended talker at his age. He really should become a politician.............if he gives up the pornostar shit anyway!

        Well the main draw is that you get to have fun fucking, and you get paid to do it. He sees these people as alphas, and thinks that's the best thing to be. People his age don't know how to play the long game, and look to the immediate for job prospects.

        Make it clear to him that, porn and sex are very different things. Listen to accounts of some of these people, and they'll tell you nothing on camera is meant to be pleasurable. You will often be forced into doing some very compromising shit by your director.

        He won't be able to lead a normal life. People who find out what he does for a living will ostracize him. He'll be easily replaceable in his field, and have no other real prospects.

        It's not as if being a pornstar is being free to do what you want. Rather a more a slave than anyone.

        But if you're looking for good arguments you should read stories about how the porn industry treats people. It's not as fun as it sounds.
