Is it normal that most of the music i listen to was made between 1967 and 1991?

For me, it seems like 95% of the best music was made during this particular timespan, for some reason.

A lot of people have a time zone of music that just moves them in a way other time periods struggle to. For me the sweet spot seems to be 1996-2014 (obviously with some classic older exceptions and the occasional more recent offering.)

    • There is some great music from 1991-2011 too, but everything after that is just garbage, IMO.

The musical trends in the later 2010s and still today are awful, most vocalists suddenly started to think it’s uncool to sing like you’re trying so they just sing-talk and mumble through the song. Then there are the issues of excessive conformity in hopes of making it onto playlists and the use of far too much synth.

Most of them I listen to come from 1990-2001 and some from 2010-2014

That’s pretty broad. The majority of what I listen to would date between 1985 and 1995.
