Is it normal that it's so hard to apply for shite jobs?

So I was looking through a job posting site and I went to apply to Ruby Tuesday's for a DISHWASHING position and the whole application process took almost an hour and included this stupid questionnaire with the most ridiculous questions on it. The whole time I am thinking this is such crap, it's a shitty minimum wage job so what is the point of this long application? Are they trying to weed out idiots and lazy people or do they actually think the applicants give two shits about such a shitty job?

is it normal that this is what applying for shite jobs has come to?

    The application is fake... no one hires legal citizens to wash dishes. You'd have had a better chance if you answered everything in gibberish.

    Yeah I've seen that too, fucking 6 page behavioral health questionnaire to become a damn busboy at Cracker Barrel or some shit. And then they don't even end up considering you for the position. I would just skip ones like that unless you're really bored/desperate.

      I'm going to be pretty pissed if they don't even call for an interview- I answered all the questions with the answers I thought they wanted to hear. My hope is that maybe nobody else is willing to go through the ridiculous application! It really is insane for a goddamn dishwashing position. One of the questions was something like "is this job temporary until something better comes along?". Like come on, who makes dishwashing a career? Who wouldn't take a better job? Of course it's temporary but you can't be honest or I'm sure they wouldn't even consider you.

        Yeah the one I did awhile back asked things like "do you ever get sad for no reason", lol and it was seriously over 100 questions like that. A lot were asking about making it a professional career too. they probably just use the same application for every position. Anyway good luck with that
