Is it normal that i want to go back on topamax to lose weight?

Last year, I was put on Topamax to prevent me from getting migraines, which were very frequent at the time. It not only helped me with the migraines tremendously at the time, but it also helped me lose weight. I actually lost weight to the point where I was skinny, which I never was in my life. When I first started taking it, I weighed about 150 pounds. I took it for about 8 months and went down to 128 pounds, which I never weighed in my life.

However, I stopped taking it and went back up to 150 pounds in three months. I just noticed this recently and at first I couldn't believe it until I weighed myself using two different scales. I also tried on a pair of jeans and I could barely button them anymore. I was disappointed when the weight came back because I was hoping it wouldn't. I miss being that skinny.

I would do anything to get back to 128 pounds again, so I just want to pop those pills again. I know I should be dieting and exercising to get this weight off, but I've been in a cycle of gaining and losing weight for 6 years. Unfortunately, it's tiring to go through all that hunger and physical work to look good, only to gain all the weight back too easily.

I honestly think I looked awesome at 128 pounds, so I'm willing to go back on Topamax to get there. It was an awesome drug to take. It made me feel good and I love what it did to my body.

It sounds to me like you wouldn't do anything to be at 128 pounds again. "Hunger and physical work" is a massive overstatement as to what allows you to lose weight. I would know, since I've lost 35 pounds in the last year. It's not "hunger and physical work". My lifestyle is not very physically active, and I'm rarely hungry.

    • Why don't you enlighten me on how you managed to lose weight without being hungry and without much exercise then?

Just eat less. Don't eat so little that you go hungry; just eat less.

Intermittent fasting is the easiest way. Everyone I've talked into doing it that I know lost a lot of weight and said they cant believe how easy it is and wish they had done it years ago. Look up Ronda Rouseys warrior diet routine. Its basically fasting but she would go from 155 to 135 for her fights in just a few weeks. Easy peasy.

    • Thanks 1WeirdGuy! I am definitely going to look into this and try it out. Ronda Rousey sounds like a real beast! This is probably the only thing I haven't tried, but sounds to me like it's definitely worth it .
