Is it normal that i like smiling back and say hello at my neighbor?

Whenever I see him, he smiles at me and I smile at him back despite him having broken English, he most of the time says hello and I say hello back.

      Well I did find out my neighbor is Romanian, so yeah I'll probably do that.

    I can't think of anything more normal. Neighborly, in fact. I love saying hi to my neighbors. Although I am a bit tired of Rob because he always insists on talking my ear off.
