I pour milk over my granola cereal and let it sit for about half an hour so it gets good and soggy before I eat it.

Soggy granola is a friend to no-one. Too moist!
I think that's normal. Granola can be too hard sometimes but it's tasty. It's good in yogurt but I'm not sure if it softens as well as it would in milk
I do the same with corn flakes.
I used to do that too when I ate them but it only took like 5 minutes.
