Is it normal that i hate it when friends use cutesy nicknames for their partner?

Two of my close friends are currently in a relationship and BOTH of them constantly refer to them using cute nicknames in a conversation with ME. (For example if the boyfriend's name was Peter they'd refer to him with some sickeningly cutesy name, like I miss my Peetey/Peetah/Hunny/Popsicle😭 or something idfk)

I just feel like it's absolutely unnecessary and it irritates me to no end. Is this a thing people usually do??

I too am in a relationship but I never refer to my boyfriend as anything other than his name when talking about him with someone else.

How... did you use an emoji on here?

Anyway, they're in the honeymoon phase, and everyone goes about it differently. Just ignore it, it'll eventually calm down.

It is annoying as hell. I had a very good female friend who got into a relationship (with a guy who, after I first met him, came off as a turd and jerk), and often referred to him, with me while we were on the road for work stuff, by her little pet name for him. "J-baby" or sometimes, the more annoying "Squeezehoney".. I wanted to throw her out of the car on many occasions, but settled for changing the conversation subject quickly.

your question is kinda confusing to answer..
I think the way you feel is normal and what they're doing is also normal cause a lot of people do it but its stupid and only dumb couples do it to seek attention
