Is it normal that i feel like people are reading my mind?

I recently started a new job and I'm convinced my boss is reading my mind. I started a week ago and the first day I noticed that my boss would say things I was thinking. I didn't think much of it at first, it happened a couple times that day. But a week later it has started to really freak me out. It now happens most of the time i'm at work. Anyway I will think something and seconds or minutes later my boss would say the exact same thing I was thinking or something very similar. Examples are like questions I think to myself but don't ask. When we have down time I'll think about my personal life and everything going on and my boss will bring up the same topic of the exact same thing I am thinking at that moment. It was happening so much that i made a comment and said "that's weird i was just thinking that did you read my mind" i laughed about it because it's obviously a silly question and her response was "some people are better at it than others".....I've been trying to ignore it but it's so current that it is hard not to.I have never experienced something like this and all I want to know is how to stop it. It is hard for me to explain what exactly happens but hopefully someone can relate or give me advice.

Women are more emotional so don't be suprised if they could read your mind.

I can relate as I have been able to read my brother's mind on a few occasions but always know how he's feeling or what he's thinking; only on a few occasions have I read his mind down to the very structure of a phrase or sentence.

Some people with psychic ability can read minds. This is most likely because these kinds of people are highly emotionally intelligent. You probably look a bit confused when you're thinking about those questions you have but never ask, and your boss can easily read your expressions and then assess the situation at hand and then just kind of read your mind. Why don't you invite her to lunch and ask her about her sixth sense?

I think it's normal to wonder about those things sometimes and even feel like it's really happening. When someone does a magic trick with playing cards, it does look like they are actually doing some sort of magic, but once you understand how they are doing it, you no longer think they are doing "real" magic.

In this case, if you started a new job, your boss has been in the business before you and knows what people new to the business will likely need to know or what they will ask about when they are first starting, so they brought those things up when you didn't ask. Also, you may have been giving off confused looks when thinking about asking and they picked up on it.

Beyond that, you are seeing a pattern that isn't there. It can look like someone is reading your mind, it just depends on how far you take your thoughts. A simple example would be to have the word "Bark" in your head. If someone said you were thinking of a cat, you could rationalize that a cat is similar to a dog, and dogs bark, so they must be reading your mind. It's not exactly like that, but each person will naturally have a different level of how close something needs to be before it seems suspicious.

Also, the fact that they commented the way they did makes it seem like they were trying to make you think they were reading your mind, which from an outside perspective seems like they are doing that to mess with you. (It was a joke that you didn't get.)

If all of that doesn't convince you that they can't actually read your mind, you should know that no one has ever been proven to be able to read minds, at least in the context you are suggesting.
