Is it normal that i don't drink soda?

I remember when I was 14 years old and I was hearing about how bad soda is for you. That stuff turns into tar if you boil it for a long time. It also unclogs a toilet. With these two extremes being heard by me, drinking soda became an unappealing thing to do, so I stopped drinking soda cold turkey. I didn't touch another can of soda for months. I am now 21 years old (almost 22), but I still don't drink soda. If I do, then I probably have like one can every four or five months. Seriously, I almost never drink soda. I don't crave it or miss it. I feel like I could live without it. I mainly drink water, but sometimes I also include a cup or two of tea in my liquid consumption. I don't drink any of those fake juices from the cartons either. I prefer to drink juices that are completely fresh and natural. Anyway, is it weird that I don't drink soda?

  • I'm almost the same as you, but I stopped in large part for my teeth as well.

I mean, many things turn into gross shit when theyre boiled when they're not meant to be...but whatever.

You're entitled to make a choice about what you eat and drink. Ir iw normal to not crave something you rarely if ever have.

How is this even a question?

When in the states, pick up a few dozen bottles of Midol. I think it will be good for you.

You'd think a so called suicide survivor wouldn't say something that could be interpreted as "kill yourself" to someone.

        Pretty fucked up. Well done.

I steer clear of soda drinks and drink carbonated water instead. Soda contain way too much sugar and diet sodas contain artificial sweeteners that are carcinogenic.

Mainly I drink juice, occasionally I like sofa when eating out otherwise it's water, juice or milk for me. Frankly I love the juice in jugs. As long as it says 100% juice on it, otherwise the sugar is just to much for me, I know it has alot of sugar already but that doesn't stop me from liking it

I haven't had soda in years. It doesn't make me feel refreshed when I'm thirsty but instead leaves me sluggish and more thirsty. It's a completely useless drink.

Avoiding soft drinks is very sensible. The sugar content of the stuff is absurdly high, and it's suspected that the artificial sweeteners in the diet versions possibly play a role in the increased incidence of diabetes.

Don't let anyone tell you that you're weird for never drinking the over-priced crap. The majority of Americans consume at least one soft drink every day, but around 40% never do. Here's a link to an article citing a real survey:

Soft drinks are just flavoured sugar syrup with added carbon dioxide and a lot of high-pressure branding attached. We instinctively find sweet tastes appealing, and the carbonation increases the appeal of soft drinks for complicated physiological reasons, but soft drink companies also do their damndest to manipulate people psychologically.

Pepsico and Coca Cola _each_ spent around $4 billion on marketing in 2017, with about half of that going on advertising. They wouldn't spend that money unless they were sure it was having an effect on consumers.

Here I'll give you a percentage.
You're in a group of .5% of total USA population that hasn't drank soda in more than a decade but less than a century.
