Is it normal that hearing is the one sense people do not mind offending?

NObody wants to offend others' smell or taste. No one wants to stink or have anything they own smell bad, and no one wants to their cooking or body to taste bad (like intimacy)

No one really wants to look bad either in style nor actions.

Touch is another one, inappropriate sexual or violent contact are usually avoided, in part because it can bring legal consequences.

BUT - people do not seem to mind being offensive to the ears. Loud cars, hate speech, annoying ring tones, or my least favorite - people who put their dogs out around 5 in the morning to bark like hell.

Why is it that with the other four senses, people try to have some kind of manners but with hearing, all that goes out the window? Let's face it, annoying sounds are often the hardest to escape. Is that why people enjoy making offensive noise?

    I get offended by sound. There’s a dude that comes into my bar and he’s annoying as fuck. I think he thinks if he speaks louder people will join his conversations. I told him the other day he was painfully loud. He shut right the fuck up.

    Oooh. I have to disagree big time. Here silence is everything. Talking on transport can get you in trouble, in public you’re urged to whisper, laughing can get you in trouble and smiling is not common, cursing or offensive language in public can have you arrested.
    That’s why everyone huddles lmao.

          Haha always wanted to. However being a transwoman and not knowing the language or being familar enough with the customs I'm scared to. Besides my luck I'd visit during the mud season

    Hearing is the most important sense to me. I don't go to places with loud noises and when well I always carry ear plugs with me so it's fine. I don't know why people are idiots about noise. In my city youths even go to hang out at the library and sit and talk loudly or watch youtube videos in full volume without headphones and the librarians say nothing to them. It only gets worse. Not to mention noisy neighbours, or youths who throw fire crackers just to inconvinience others. I don't find that people care so much about the other stuff either though. Some people go outside smelling like they've bathed in a tub of perfume and then go on public transport etc. fully aware that there are people with allergies. Smokers who smoke at bus stops right next to other people who want nothing to do with it, they only recently made a law against this but it gets broken of course. And inapporopiate touching happens constantly too, might happen less now due to MeToo luckily but it happens.
    People are just assholes, they do whatever they feel like.

    I can't stand people talking loudly on their cell phones. Especially when I can hear the person on the other end. Why do I hear them?
    Or people that talk so loud that I jump. Why are they talking so loud? I mean take it down a notch, please!

    I think it’s because sounds/words can be very harmful, and there’s not as much restriction/laws around those as the other senses you mentioned. Also, some people are just inconsiderate.
