Is it normal my friend gives me gifts then asks for them back

The title kinda speaks for itself.

They gave me stickers for a show that I watch. They found them at the park randomly and they knew I liked the show, so they just gave it to me. Then like months later they ended up getting into the show and then told me to give back all of the stickers. I just didn't say anything and gave it back.

This one is reasonable I think, but they also gifted me their old shirt that didn't fit them anymore. It didn't fit me either, so I just kinda kept it not knowing what to do with it until they asked for it back like a month later. But it didn't fit them either anyways so what the hell?? And when they got it back they said "looks like you stretched it out". That's such a fucking rude thing to say.

This is making me not want to accept anything from them ever because it seems like they just give people things they wanna keep. If you know you might want something in the future, or you know you don't wanna give it up, then why gift it? Is it normal for someone to do this?

Your friend isn't normal and they're also not a good friend.

If you continue accepting things from them, say that you threw it away.

Yesh thats odd. Just tell her "everytime you give me a gift you want it back later. Just keep it." It shouldnt be a big deal to bring that up.

That is indeed a fucking rude thing to say. I'm sorry your friend is like that. They dont sound like a friend. Got some boundaries to set homie.

If you have no use for a gift... quickly pass it on to another who may have use for it, or donate it to charity.

That's very rude. I was always told never to give something to someone and then ask for it back from the time I was very little, and have always been very put off by people who do.

The typical "Indian giver" because people used to give things to the Indians for publicity and then later take them back. She's no friend. Don't take anything from her anymore.
