Is it normal i think all kinds of coffee taste identical

I am a coffee lover I love coffee but I think all brands of black coffee taste the same. I cant tell any difference. I think it all comes down to how you prepare it and when black coffee is extremely good at a coffee shop it's because they have the best most expensive machines and they make coffee all the time.

I can only tell the difference between the syrups and milk levels of coffees, for teas on the other hand I suspect I could murder a taste test on brands, they all taste distinct to me.

What’s the best one in the US? Over here Waitrose Essentials is my brand of choice (even though it’s not cheap).

No. There is vast differences in coffees, depending on the ripeness and variety of the beans and how they were roasted. There’s classes that will teach you to discern the differences

    • I might take such a class one of those days. Sounds interesting.

I had a friend whose father was in the coffee business and could tell the variety of beans and if they were a blend and if they were picked green or ripe. He was amazing.
