Is it normal i have a steady weight that is over weight

I've heard that a steady weight is the best weight or a predictable pattern even. But mine is a steady over weight pattern. Mid 160s to low 170s being the highest I've been in months was 172 flat (in pounds) which is overweight for my height at 5'2" (about 158.5 cm). Is this healthy? Why does this happen?

Are u taking any meds? Some meds can cause significant weight gain. Hypothyroidism this can also cause weight gain.

It depends on how many calories you consume every day.
You may consume more on some days and less on others. This contributes to you’re weight constantly changing.
If you want to maintain your weight or gain more/ lose it change the amount of calories you take in. Use a calorie calculator to see how much you should eat everyday.

    • I'm saying I have a steady at least range and pattern for it changing but isn't it odd that it's staying higher than normal but still steady?

The more you weigh the more calories you have to consume to maintain that weight.
You may be consuming the same amount of calories everyday (or around that amount). People who are larger or have more muscle burn more calories, even at rest. This is why body builders are able to consume more then other people.
Age may be another factor. As you get older, the amount of muscle tends to decrease and fat accounts for more of your weight, slowing down calorie burning.
In the end it just depends on your size, age, and the amount of calories you intake (which may be the reason why it is remaining steady)
Do you drink or eat something before you weigh yourself? Water adds weight (not fat but it makes you heavier)
