Is it normal i get way too childish with costumes?

Whenever I get the chance to wear a costume, my inner child just bursts out of joy and I try to have the best possible time I can. This is probably because I never disguised myself when I was young, and now at 18 I can finally do it without other people knowing it.

I don't know how I would react to being around other people, since I'm too shy to do it. But when I'm alone it feels like I have all the fun in the world by myself :)

So is it normal?

I have always wanted to dress up as Alice from Alice in Wonderland for Halloween. She's a hero of mine, but really her adventures are more like psychedelic drug trips than anything.

Of course that's normal! Cosplay conventions are open to adults, and they all seem to have a great time. I think that's a really cool hobby to have!

    • I suppose, never attended one because of being too shy. But I still don't know if I get way too childish. For example, when I wear something fluffy like an unicorn suit, I just dance to childish musics and want to hug everyone.

It's still okay if you want it to be something just for yourself, but being open about it may help you feel less insecure. Ultimately if you are comfortable doing it yourself and comfortable with yourself, just enjoy what you do.

        • Yeah, I guess the first step to being comfortable with others is to be comfortable with myself. Thank you!!!
