Is it normal i get pissed of when i make dinner and nobody's ready?

I grew up where we waited at the table when dinner was almost ready. It was considered rude to not be ready and you drop what you're doing and come and eat
My husband and son now are rarely ready and waiting but even when I tell them it's almost ready they are still hanging out upstairs, messing around etc. It annoys me because I'm the only one who cooks and certain things can get ruined it they're cold(like today's wilted salad). Do you think if given warning they could at least show up when I tell them the food I have prepared is ready and not keep me waiting?
Part of me wants to eat without them but I was raised to be nicer than that .

Prepare the meal, eat your own and leave theirs in the pan/oven /microwave and let them serve themselves.
They need to realise that you value mealtimes and dining together as a family.
