Is it normal i get lots of weird comments on imgur?

I use Imgur as an image hosting site so I can easily upload to other sites. Every time I upload, I always get a bunch of downvotes (which I don't care about, but find weird since it's never anything controversial, usually just some of my possessions I share on a forum) and a bunch of very weird comments. A lot of comments suggesting my items are used for some weird fetish (which they're not) or of a sexual nature.

Did I just stumble upon a site full of 12-year-olds? Anybody else have this experience with Imgur?

    People who view submissions by Newest First will see anything you post unless you select "Hidden" when uploading. If you're posting seemingly random objects you're gonna get some troll comments/people trying to be funny, and lots of downvotes.

    Choosing your upload to be hidden won't effect your ability to share it at all, it just won't show up in the submissions for the imgur community.

      Thank you! It's been getting quite obnoxious lately. I've been ignoring it for awhile, but it still gets old.

    I just looked it up. It seems to have too many users to judge on age. Maybe the only ones who negatively vote you, are in fact kids with nothing better to do.

    It happens. A lot of people comment just to be jerks. I've had that happen here a couple of times and a couple other sites. They think they're being funny but instead are just proving what asses they can be. Pay them no mind and if possible block them as I have some people here. Good luck!
