Is it normal for these people in their 30's to throw tantrums?

Seriously, they all took part in the Great Resignation and realised that they'd rather stay unemployed and use mental disorders as an excuse. They look down on anyone that has a job and says they're slaves to big corporations. If their parents say no to things, they act all whiny over it and scream. Strange thing is a good chunk of these people used to be hard workers that I could never picture doing this. Now they act as whiny as their kids do. In some of these families, the grandparents feel resentful because they did not want to spend their retirement playing babysitter and still taking care of grown adults.

I think a big issue is so many people go through life without getting their ass beat

I don’t understand why some unemployed adults who live with their parents act like they “answer to no-one”, you either answer to your parents or the job centre, whoever is paying your expenses.

I don’t think this is normal behaviour, everyone I know who lives entirely off family or their partner is aware they are getting a good deal and should be grateful.

Roses you know some very mature people. As a lot of adult being taken care of by parents act like enyitled spoiled brats.

This is funny to me. My grandparents practically raised me and my 3 siblings and 100% raised my 2 cousins. And as soon as I had my first son, my parents moved 14 hours away. Now I’ve got 3 kids. And my sister lives in the area with 1.

They come into town for a few hours. Take pictures for Facebook and leave.

I personally refuse to work corporate.

My parents trash of a generation are obsessed with Facebook. I don’t want anything to do with them. And they can just stay away. It’s not worth the Facebook photo shoot they play pretend for.

Thats why I think people big into social media are kinda fake. They will go do something with the sole intention of just taking a picture of them doing it to put it on their instagram. So they can make people believe they live some exciting and good lifestyle.

Unfortunately there are a lot of believers of what they see on social media.

I've seen people get promotions, awards, and special assignments or treatment, for the same fake posts. They go somewhere for a quick photo op then act like they were involved in 50 major charity events or company projects.

I caught myself doing it once and I have a feeling others do it. I was at a party and wanted to go out of my way to take a picture with people so I could upload it to facebook. I thought about it later and realized I only wanted to do it to impress others and make my life look entertaining and I thought it was kinda pathetic. I dont do any social media at all anymore except this. I do miss being able to keep track of my hometown friends tho and I worry I've been messaged but havent responded. Maybe Ill open the app again. Every now and then my mom will tell me who died or got married or whatever cause I dont keep track.

I understand, I avoid social media as well and have missed or found out about things way after they happen, and the answer is always "well we put it on Facebook" or some other site.

Even companies and organizations I belong to have stopped sending notifications out, (neither email, snail mail, or even a text) to members about significant events. They just assume everyone is on Facebook.

I've actually been pushed the opposite way. If I find out about an event through unofficial means and, I find out the only way they notified people was by posting on social media, I'll miss it on purpose just to point out to them not everyone follows their little world.

It's made me more anti social media.

My mom uploaded a picture of my sons first day of preschool with no context that she wasn’t there. Cool. You don’t anymore pictures, ya nut!

I heard about that great resignation. It's not a bad idea if someone can afford to do that but if someone is in their thirties they probably don't have enough saved to retire. Didn't they realize that eventually they would have to go back to work?

They do. They're only leaving 9-5s and many are now doing their own businesses at home.

Agreed. Just think of all we'd have to do without and what the consequences would be if everyone just decided they didn't want to perform jobs they didn't want to anymore. There are so many dirty and unpleasant (and sometimes dangerous), but very necessary jobs. Water treatment/sewage, food production, factory jobs, linemen, first responders, law enforcement, military, sanitation workers, construction, etc, etc, etc. Imagine if nobody worked those jobs!

Unfortunately, not uncommon at the moment.

To my understanding, the point of the people refusing to get jobs is supposed to be a form of protest or general strike, to hopefully demand better working conditions.

I'm in my thirties and did resign in December 2020. I don't live with my parents and I believe that this generalisation of all of this generation is very misleading and you are probably giving your opinion on the few people in that situation that you encounter often.

Its a product of the dwindling nuclear family and the rise of the welfare state

Those aren't tantrums they're realizations. Life isn't about working for little money at a 9-5, it's about living it as much as you can and I'm happy all these people are no longer giving into corporate America.

Pretty much all humans throw tantrums on the odd occasion, one way or another, at any age. And if you get to know anybody well enough, you’ll see immaturity in them one day.

Just a lot of people out there that deny and lie about it.

People who do that must be very immature.
