Is it normal for someone to cancel out their good deed by being stupid?

So this old fart let me go in front of him in the grocery store cause I only had one item. In the parking lot, I was waiting forever someone to pull out of the space cause they had their reverse lights on. I started honking loudly and the person backed out and looked at me, it was the old geezer. I didn't feel ashamed or anything cause he just wasted the same amount of time from letting me cut ahead in line.

How did you get stuck behind someone that was behind you? Sounds like you need to move faster if an old person behind you can manage to get ahead of you

Idk I think you should feel a little bad about it honestly. I wouldnt even honk at someone for going slow backing out. You must live in a big city where everyones rude to eachother.

You had the right of way, if you were already in the lane, so really, you're the idiot here. Shoulda just kept going. If he backed into you, it'd be his fault.

He wanted to waste time both times simply Bc he could. So yeah, he probably didn’t even notice. Fuck it.

No, because being stupid =/= being a bad person.

Either way, parking lots can be confusing places especially when they're busy and so many people drive like idiots in them (I don't know how many times I've been cut off or almost hit by someone flying across the parking spaces at a ridiculous speed and not even paying attention to what they're doing), so I don't think this older gentleman simply taking awhile to back out of a parking space can "cancel" a good deed he did since he wasn't doing anything malicious, but probably just being cautious. It's a well known fact that older people are often slower at doing a lot of things than younger people as well.
