Is it normal being more comfortable with your left despite being right handed?

Ever since I was young I have always had an urge to write with my left hand, even though my teachers always told me I was right-handed and needed to write with my right. I often got my hands mixed up, using my left hand or calling it my right hand as a kid. These days, I write more often with my left hand now that I am allowed, and I can write fairly well, if a bit slower than my right due to disuse.

Is It Normal?

  • Some people can write with either hand well. My left handed writing comes out terrble.

  • If you can do it, go for it. Being ambidextrous can be a benefit. I am right handed and I broke my right wrist, a while back, in a motorcycle accident. It is very difficult to wipe your butt with your left hand if you never did it before.
