I lost my carrier at about age 35. I was depressed and did not know what to do for months. The industry I was in was downsizing (they cut 50,000 people nationwide) and I personally know people who committed suicide.

It took a while; but, I got to the point where I valued myself for who I was and the impact I made in the world outside of work. A job was primarily there for income, and if I enjoyed it that was a bonus. But, I lived for my time away from work.

I've worked all kinds of job from putting floors in new semi trailers to being a Senior Engineer and Consultant, and then starting and running businesses (enough financially successful to pay my bills).

I've since lost several more jobs, and been downsized again. I always bounce back because my real career is assisting other people to do better and my friends and family.

Get a proper focus on what's important in your life... and don't fret about what you do for a living.

Probably coal mining. It pays around 80k a year and its pretty close. Also everyone who works in the oil field is rich as hell maybe I would learn how to weld for the oil rigs or do some job on a oil rig. Idk much about the job but oil work would be an upgrade in pay for me im sure. Ive heard alot of them make 200k+

I'm just a student at the moment, so i don't know, but i guess if I ever have a good job and lose it I'd try to get it back, the same job at a different company, or a similar job at the same one

A multi task/ maintenance, handy, can do many things and is never without a job. There’s always something to do. Be creative!! Look around and see what you can do to make money. Starting from the bottom is the best school. Go for it! It’s worth the sacrifice.

I would write software to automate even more people out of jobs. Why lay off software engineers when they help you lay off even heaps more people.

Even if I lost my job as a car dealership manager, I can always get another position in management. Doesn't have to be car-related.

Worst case scenario - online IT course, learn programming and find a job for a tech company. Pay is good.

Worst, worst case scenario - I do have a CDL, so I can be a full time bus/ short trip coach driver, or short haul truck driver. I would not want to sleep in the cab of a European truck.
