Retirement age. The age where you are finishing up your work life and are in pursuit of finding what they will occupy their time until they die.

My plan is to get into more laid back work. Upkeep of a homestead, be a badass grandpa. Prepare my own crypt. There is nothing more humbling than making your own grave.

    Old.

I know it seems weird to put "old" and "elderly" into different categories, but I've always associated elderly and old with different age groups.

somewhere inbetween the two is the border where you officially cross into 'elderly'. most people place the bar at 65

based on medical definition - yes. steve and howie are now officially at the age where it's considered 'normal' to get dementia. congrats to them!

for me personally it feels a little weird to classify people under 70 as elderly but i'd definitely say you're past middle age at 65 so unless we're gonna invent a separate term for those 5 years elderly it is.

If you believe a lifespan to be 100 years then 50 would be middle age. If you think it is 80, then 40 is middle age. The bible gives you 3 score and 10. That is 70 years. So based on that, middle aged is 35.

70s is elderly, as it turns out, old people often are silly and they're fussy eaters. I can't feed them anything unless it agrees with their digestive systems. But given 60 is middle-aged I have a long way to go, 65 is elderly, as it turns out my housemate is middle-aged, he doesn't like fish with tartar sauce because he doesn't "like sauces like that", as for me I should have sauces like that, tartar sauce is so cheap these days, it's not some luxury of upper-class liberals as mum seems to think, her mind for anger at boredom and for yummy food is like a baby, she'll beg me for some confections, as every person close to me is begging for food, try vomiting that out to a boss of a pizzeria, he's not going to like it. My mother thinks I'm an attention-seeking, silly young man, young? At 39 years I'm not a child, but it's about how I act, not like a child, and not just the number of years I'm at, still, those elderly people should be talked down if they think their tricks lure me into listening to a toffy-nosed foolish old fart, they're silly and shouldn't be watering people down, it's precisely what arseholes do to make excuses for their arseholery.
