Just sign it with your username

they used to have a option to make your stories public on your profile. i assume they took it away because it was rarely used

I always mention it's me if I want others to know it's from me. You can sign it with your name or just say "Hi, [insert username here] here".

well thats why people have alt accounts

Defeats the whole purpose of the site. You could just say it in the description who you are.
