I want to call my friend.

I want to call my friend and check in on her and make sure shes okay, she deleted her Facebook (she always complains about social media so it's not that big of a deal) but I just want to make sure shes okay and in case shes isolating herself from others I want to make sure shes doing okay. We live in other countries so I can only call her but for some reason I'm really nervous to, I feel like there was some unspoken tension that had built up because I told her I liked her and she didnt feel the same but I've finally moved on and I want to still be friends but I'm scared to call her.

You should do it ! If it's too tense to call her just text instead

You should do it. Even if she just wants space or she is going through something, it feels good to know someone cares enough to reach out. What may seem like a check up call could be something bigger to her. You’re a good friend

Just do it, tell her that you moved on and you want to be friend with her. If she doesn't answer your call, drop her message. It's nice, that you care.

    • Thanks man I think you're right I probably should, I want it to feel organic though but I guess I'll just call her and chat for a bit then bring it up

        • Do you think a text would be good? A call just feels too much or something

Like should I mention if we start chatting again that I'm over her or do I just leave it?

I suggest you send a text.

    Also, do they have WhatsApp?

I've used WhatsApp for years with people in other countries.

It's started as texting and calling. I understand it now does video as well.

    • Why do you think I should send a text though?

Texting can be a polite and unobtrusive way to let someone know that you are thinking about them and care.... They will either positively respond back... in which case you call; or either ignore your message or send one back that they are not interested.

It lets you find out if they want to continue a relationship with you or not.

Most people I know will no longer answer their phones to an unexpected call unless its really from a close friend or family. Texting usually sets up a phone call.

Good idea with WhatsApp, u can also see when the person was last online, if user doesn't turn it off.
