I want a spare million dollars

In the US, one in every 23 people is a millionaire, and there are more than one million millionaires in Canada. You see these people all the time, and never know it. They live below their means, have good jobs, and blend into society. I happen to be one of them. I lead a low stress life, take nice vacations and don't work. But I am not content. I want an extra million so that I can be superior to people like myself. What do you think?

I think you are probably living with your parents, not working and consider having the house to yourself a vacation when they go out of town. I also think you are counting the equity they built up in their house, through hard work, your money already.

One problem though, they aren't dead yet, and they may just have enough sense not to leave it to you when they die.

    • I am only including liquid assets, not my parents basement.

Probably works at McDonald's and will be lucky to get a job in a factory. I love how people actually think you'll buy into this shit just because they know how to type. It's probably the same asshole who made the post about being an amateur psychologist. Probably the only thing he/she has is a spare tire.

I can see that the denial defense mechanism works quite well for you. The pertinent question is whether you have unfulfilled aspirations for excess wealth, or whether you are threatened by people superior to yourself.

My comment was due to the fact that anyone can claim any damned thing on an anonymous internet site and there's no way they can prove anything or back up anything. When people get on here and make claims about how wealthy they are or how beautiful they are, I simply discount them, even though they may be true. Superior to myself? Your ignorance seems to know no limits. For all I know, these superior people are 12 year olds playing on the computer. I've had people on here tell me they're going to kick my ass and Blah, blah, blah. Probably some 400 pound house bound invalids.

True, but your supposition seems to be that everyone on-line is a loser. Certainly there is a distribution of people in various situations. Perhaps the degree of articulation, brevity, eloquence, and other writing attributes could give you some idea of the status of who you were talking to.

It is also true that perception will work best in person. But, you seem smart enough to read between the lines. For some reason you are not doing it.

You could give everyone over 18 in America a million dollars, and in 1 year 70% of them would be broke. If you can't live below your means, you can never accumulate wealth. Simple as that.

Math 101, you have to spend less than you take in to gain wealth...

I've made over 1/4 million on stocks since Trump was elected. At this pace, I'll make well over 2 million in the 8 years Trump is president, just on the fact Hillary isn't President.

You are a zombie like everyone else. You don't want meaning, you just want more of what you already can't use. That makes you normal by shallow materialistic standards.

If you invested 50% of your money into a mortgage on a $60,000 yearly pay cheque out could have an extra $1,000,000 in 32 years.

At least that's the working man's way.

If someone has spare million they should give it to me, because I will no doubt put it to go use.

Intresting factoids imo, but not going to look up the stats to see if they're true either :p. I think it's normal to want more no matter how much you have or don't have.

I own an island, with exclusive rights to hunt anyone who trespasses. If I had an extra million I would use it to promote my island as a tourist destination.

    • Yes. Recreational combat could be lots of fun. You get payment in advance and feed dead bodies to the sharks. A memorable time for everyone.

Who doesn't want a few spare mill... get in line pal XD
But on a serious note, I agree. I too have a good job with little stress and good pay. I recently started my own business and I got plans for some US investments should things go according to plan. Screw dreaming of a 2 week beach vacation. I want to have the money to spend my vacations on a yacht, welcoming every sunrise and sunset with Chivas Regal!

I am the Sultan of Brunei and am worth over 50 billion dollars. And I can't even buy a god-damned beer as it is not allowed. Life is so hard for me.
