I usually only understand half of the lyrics of songs i listen to?

I have to check the lyrics online to understand the full song. I might have to get my ears checked?

I remember when I first heard the song Freak On A Leash, I misheard this one lyric as Archie muck for me to take so when I googled the lyrics for the song I found out it was " A cheap fuck for me to lay "

My hearing for songs wasn't as strong and still isn't the best when it comes to listening to the lyrics of the song.

First of all, a lot of these singers sing so close to the mike as if they're going to devour it, making it so hard to understand what they're saying. Secondly, the way they harmonize a lot of popular music makes the vocal blend in with the instrumentation, making even harder.

Normal, I'm the same way! It's pretty common for people to hear the wrong lyrics in songs. With most of the music I've heard, a lot of the vocals aren't very clear, and therefore it's easy to either not understand what is being sung, or mishear it as something else.

English is not my first language and most of the time I don't understand what they are saying until I google it.

How the music sounds is important, not the actual words.
