I think most store reviews are fake walmart amazon?

Looking for a pair of shoes. 5-star reviews have many mostly unverified purchasers.

I posted a review on Amazon that the product delivered (plastic strip advise bandages - think "Band Aids) was clearly not what was advertised (cloth strip adhesive bandages). I also contacted the Amazon fraud reporting link and reported it.

My review was approved, and then removed the next day. The product is still being sold on Amazon with a fake claim on what it is.

I've made 2 other reviews on Amazon. Anything not positive vanishes within a few days.

I don't trust any review on Amazon anymore. It's all fake.

That's infuriating that they're allowing fraudulent sellers to continue to sell items they've misrepresented. It sadly doesn't surprise me, though.

its a crapshoot but if you can sniff out bullshit you can usually find some specific complaint or praise about the item

Most sites are like that. I reviewed some boxing gloves on the title website and my account and review was deleted because they didnt like ny review.

Definitely buy shoes in person. Last time I bought sneakers every pair had foam bottoms. So weird. I finally found a pair in the wrong box that had real foam bottoms.

Or instead of shopping on Amazon, buy directly from the shop you want. They’re way more attentive in customer service.

I trust them more than having no reviews at all, but I also beeline the worst reviews to see what they have to say about it.

Wouldn't surprise me. Honestly, I try to avoid Amazon as much as possible because most of their items seem to be cheap imitations of better products, and are mostly junk. I've skimmed both Amazon's and Wal-Mart's online reviews and found them to be iffy.

With shoes, I think you'd be better off to go to a store and try them on in person. Shoes are personal enough that one person being satisfied with them doesn't mean you will be, and everyone's definition of acceptable quality is also different. I find that you can usually at least get a general idea of how well made something is and how well it will hold up if you see it in person and feel the materials.
