I need snow in mandeville, louisiana

I need it to snow in Mandeville, Louisiana! There is a winter storm that will be coming to the south next weekend and it could bring snow where I live. It hasn't snowed here in over 3 years, and this is unacceptable. Every year I pray that we get a decent snowfall, or at least one at all. I feel sorry for people in New Orleans because their temperature has not hit freezing since January 2018. I don't know how they can accept this. I need this snowfall. I don't think I can bear another missed winter storm. I was really jealous of people in north Louisiana last month. I will never move to see snow because it just won't feel the same as seeing it in my hometown. I can list the dates of every snowfall I have experienced in Mandeville LA. I have seen it only 6 times. I saw an ice storm twice. I am 24 and that is only roughly a fourth or a third of my life including them all. I deserved at least 24 snowfalls, one for each year.

What's ridiculous is every other time we get close, but we get a classic southern screw job. Last month, a warm front pulled warm air into south Louisiana while it was snowing in the north. It this hadn't happened it would have snowed at my house! High pressure chasing moisture away is another one. The moisture seems to always leave just in time for freezing temperatures. Sometimes, I want to vomit blood to express my utter disgust.

I am obsessed with snow and I need it before spring officially sets in because if not, I fear I may get seasonal depression because I would have to wait at least another 9 months. I've been through enough in the past year and I deserve snow. Please pray that it happens!!!

    That's...not what seasonal depression is...

The physical reactions aren't normal, though. That sounds like this interferes enough in your life that you should get some assistance with it.

    • I have never actually vomited blood. I just feel low for a few days if I miss out on snow. My utter dissatisfaction with the climate in my area has not been exaggerated. I look at weather forecasts all the time during winter hoping for a chance.

      • Don't you think that might be part of the problem? Calculating, predicting, hoping for snow in southern Louisiana... and then when it doesn't snow you feel like you've built up all this momentum for nothing

Not every area is blessed with all four seasons. That's why areas that are cost more to live in usually, because it's more beautiful than only seeing 2 or 3

You're putting yourself between a rock and hard place by wanting to consistently experience snow while at the same time not wanting to live in an area that consistently gets snow

Ultimately you'll have to make a choice, stop caring about snow or move somewhere that does have snow. By pursuing both you're causing yourself mental harm

Good luck getting snow in a southern state. The climate doesn't lend itself to sub-zero temperatures.

    • At first I read sub zero and thought, "it doesn't need to be that cold." Then I read your name and realized on your side of the pond sub zero makes total sense to reference freezing temperatures

Haha yeah, we in the UK measure temperatures in Celsius, not Fahrenheit. Fahrenheit just confuses us.

This comment didn't age well. I hold my hands up.

Why not move to say Wisconsin, Minnesota, Montana, Wyoming, etc if you want snow in the winter.

While some (many) wait for water to survive others are whimsical ...
