I'm receiving more spam e-mail than usual

Can this be a sign of anything such as someone accessing my wifi? Anything along those lines?

I haven't signed up for anything lately that would cause me to receive these.

I'm really only asking because of a specific group of people that live near me. Otherwise, it's not a huge deal

Is It Normal?
Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

  • I'm guessing you are in the US. Congress voted in March of this year to make it ok for our internet service providers to sell our browsing history without our consent. I think that has resulted in an increase in junk email.

  • If you visit a site and leave your email address you're screwed. These guys trade email address lists all the time. I get bombarded by spam all the time but most of it goes right to the spam folder. I send the ones that do get through to spam folder. Any future ones from that site will go to spam.

  • Marketers are getting more aggressive. They need to make a buck and they don't care how they get it.

  • Its normal if you visited or used the internet searches recently. Or if you signed up for something with your email recently. It simply happens from time to time
